The 10th annual Darwin Day Celebration Lecture will be given by Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore discussing the topic of Adolescence: A Sensitive Period for Social Brain Development.
Sarah-Jayne is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University College London. She studies social cognition and decision-making in the adolescent brain.
Darwin Day is a worldwide celebration of science, held on the birthday of evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin who was born in 1809.
UCLan hosts annual lectures by distinguished academics in the 450 seat Darwin Lecture Theatre. The building was named in honor of Darwin’s contribution to our understanding of humanity and place in the Universe.
The event is being presented by The School of Psychology and will be held in the Darwin Lecture Theatre from 7-9pm on 12 Feb 2015.
