#ShareMyThesis Competition

• Are you currently studying for or have you completed a PhD degree?
• Do you want to tell the world why your research is important?

This worldwide competition challenges PhD students past and present to tweet in 140 characters why your PhD research is so important. You should tweet should include the hashtag #sharemythesis

Your tweet should include what your research is about, why it is important and should be understandable to a non-specialist. The competition is open to worldwide entries from any subject area.

The winner will receive a 15-inch MacBook pro. Second prize is an iPad and third prize a £200 Amazon voucher.

Your tweet should be sent by 9th February 2015 at 10.00am and the winner will be announced by 20th March 2015.

We challenge you to give a short 5 minute demo that engages and excites kids about science – any area, any aspect.

The competition is open to all staff and students, with training & support available to all participants. Enter either solo, as a pair or a group.

Five winners will be chosen to receive £20 Amazon vouchers and perform their demo in British science week to an audience of local primary school children. The ‘Best UCLan and Ri YSC Demo 2015’ chosen by the audience!

This a unique and fun way of developing science communication skills, promoting your area of science and inspiring the next generation of scientists
